CCB SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH HEBEI EYE HOSPITAL

In May, 2015, CCB President Louise Gillis and other CCB members along with representatives of the Lions District A4 visited Hebei Province,China to initiate mobile eye clinics in the rural areas. The Chinese government has implemented a national vision policy directed toward children. The Hebei Foundation and the Hebei Eye Hospital lead the Chinese contingent for the clinics. The CCB and the Hebei Eye Hospital signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which among other things, promotes eye health and early intervention to preserve eyesight. The MOU provides for annual or biannual exchanges between China and Canada to promote a better understanding among the respective peoples, but also, offers medical exchanges between the two countries.
