We are\u00a0pleased to share with you the recording of\u00a0the Canadian Council of the Blinds, Tuesday, October 17\u00a0conference, “The State of Vision Health in Canada”.\u00a0This conference provided a comprehensive update on the current state of vision health in Canada and offered insights into what we can anticipate as we move\u00a0forward\u00a0the post-pandemic era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference provided a comprehensive update on the current state of vision health in Canada and offered insights into what we can anticipate as we move into the post-pandemic era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were honoured to have the Honourable Judy Sgro, PC, MP<\/em><\/strong>, join us to provide an update on the progress of Bill C-284 \u2013 An Act to establish a national strategy for eye care, which was first tabled in the House of Commons in June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were further privileged to have representatives from the major stakeholders in vision presenting their view of the future. the distinguished speakers included Dr. Keith Gordon<\/em><\/strong>, Senior Research Officer, Canadian Council of the Blind; Dr. Phil Hooper<\/em><\/strong>, President, Canadian Ophthalmological Society; Dr. Martin Spiro<\/em><\/strong>, President, Canadian Association of Optometrists; Jennifer Jones<\/em><\/strong>, President and CEO, Fighting Blindness Canada; Dr. Larissa Moniz<\/em><\/strong>, Director of Research and Mission Programs, Fighting Blindness Canada; Jennifer Urosevic<\/em><\/strong>, President and CEO, Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada<\/p>\n\n\n\n
