At the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB), we are committed to ensuring that the majority of your donation directly supports our programs and services for Canadians living with vision loss. Every dollar donated helps to fund essential initiatives such as vision health programs, advocacy, and community support.
A small portion of your donation covers necessary administrative and operational costs that allow us to effectively manage and deliver our services. We strive for transparency and efficiency in our financial practices and reporting, and we encourage donors to review our annual reports and financial statements for more detailed information on how funds are allocated.
Your contribution makes a significant impact, and we are incredibly grateful for your support!
The Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) was originally founded and received funding from the CNIB starting in 1944. The CCB is unique as it is governed and operated by individuals who are blind or partially sighted. Although the CCB is no longer directly a part of the CNIB, the two organizations work together to improve the lived experiences of those living with vision loss.
The Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) uses a third-party fundraising company, Engaged Interactive, to fundraise. Engaged conducts acquisition campaigns throughout the year. These campaigns are designed to raise awareness and encourage support for our programs through direct donations.
Engaged Interactive helps us reach a broader audience and secure the necessary resources to continue providing essential services to Canadians living with sight loss. If you have any questions about these campaigns or wish to confirm the legitimacy of a fundraising effort, please feel free to contact us directly at 1-877-304-0968 or at: ccb@ccbnational.net.
At the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB), we strive to ensure that every dollar we receive goes towards supporting our mission of improving the lives of Canadians living with vision loss. Charity Intelligence scores can reflect operational aspects such as administrative costs or advocacy efforts that may not fully capture the value of our programs and the direct impact they have on the community.
We are continuously working to improve our transparency and efficiency, but it’s important to note that our focus remains on providing essential services such as vision health programs, advocacy, and support for individuals living with sight loss. We encourage donors and supporters to review our annual reports and financial statements to gain a more comprehensive understanding of how we manage our resources to maximize impact.
